GUILFORD— The PCHS Boys basketball team out of Guilford looked to bounce back after a tough 54-52 loss to Lee Academy on Thursday. They did just that with a 66-41 victory against PVHS out of Howland on Saturday evening.
PCHS fell behind by one point in the opening minutes of the game but they never looked back after that. Bryce Gilbert and Cameron Kane put on an offensive clinic for the Pirates. Gilbert scored a game high 23 points, while Kane put in 22 points, including 6 three-pointers. Gilbert was also key defensively as he picked up eight rebounds in the win. As a team PCHS had four steals and 14 turnovers in the game.
Grant Kidon picked up steam in the 4th quarter by draining two 3’s ending the game with a team high 15 points for the Howlers. Brad McKechnie put in 10 points. As a team Howland had six steals and 11 turnovers.
Up next for the 4-4 PCHS Pirates they will travel to face undefeated GSA on Tuesday for a 7pm start time
And for the 2-5 Howlers they will make their way to Millinocket on Tuesday to face the Minutemen at 7 PM.
