BANGOR- Jackson Mathers recorded 28 points, nine rebounds, five steals, and two assists In leading top seeded Southern Aroostook to a 73-50 victory over Greater Houlton Christian in a Maine Principals’ Association class D boys quarterfinal game on Monday afternoon at the Cross Insurance Center.
The Warriors broke open a close game with a 32-0 run in the first half. Southern Aroostook scored 30 points in the second quarter and held a 49-15 halftime lead.
Nolan Altvator recorded 20 points, eight rebounds, and two assists for the Warriors. Tyler Batchelder scored seven points and had six steals. Southern Aroostook (18-1) will play Central Aroostook in a class D semifinal game on Thursday, February 23rd at 3:35 PM.
Issac Potter led the Eagles with 14 points and five rebounds. Austin Winslow and Jed Grant added nine points each. Greater Houlton Christian finishes the season with a 10-9 record.
