According to Maine Mens basketball coach Bob Walsh two more players will be leaving the program, while another will miss the entire 2017-18 season after surgery.
On his appearance on the Downtown Show with Rich Kimball Tuesday, Walsh said leading scorer Wes Myers will depart the program, as will point guard Jaquan McKinnon.
Walsh explained him and Myers sat down after spring break and decided he would no longer be part of the team. Myers was involved in an incident in February that resulted in him and Marko Pirovic being suspended for the remainder of the season. Myers averaged 16.9 points a game in 28 games last season. No word on where Myers will look to continue his collegiate career.
McKennon is leaving the program to pursue a music career rather than continue his basketball career. McKennon, will reportedly be part of a tour that includes Chicago based rapper, Chance. McKennon averaged 4.1 points a game last season with the Bears.
Vincent Eze will miss the entire season after undergoing surgery on Tuesday.
