Mookie and Kimbrel help Red Sox get win in series finale at Milwaukee

May 11, 2017

It took awhile for the Boston Red Sox to get a big hit on Thursday afternoon. Mookie Betts got that big hit when he smashed a three run home run to give the Red Sox a 4-1 win at Milwaukee.

The dramatics from Betts were made possible by Craig Kimbrel. With one out and one on base and th scored tied at 1 in the eighth inning, Red Sox manager John Farrell put in the closer. Kimbrel struck out two and allowed an infield single in the inning. Kimbrel struck out the side in the 9th to close out the win.

Eduardo Rodriguez had a strong start. Rodriguez allowed one run on three hits and no walks in six innings. He struck out five.

Betts, Dustin Pedroia, and Xander Bogaerts had two hits each. The Red Sox went 3-3 on their road trip. They will start a brief three game homestand with the Rays on Friday night.
