Meghan Royle recorded a double, triple, and five RBI to lead the University of Maine Black Bears softball team to a 9-1 win over Hartford in an America East tournament game played at Binghamton on Thursday afternoon.
Rachel Carlson had two hits and scored three runs. Felicia Lennon scored two runs.
Erin Bogdanovich earned the win in the circle. She allowed one run in 3.2 innings. Molly Flowers pitched 1.1 innings of scoreless relief.
The double elimination tournament will continue on Friday. The second seed Black Bears will take on fourth seeded Albany at 11 AM. Albany surprised top seed Binghamton 4-3 in extra innings on Thursday.
