Red Sox rally isn’t enough in loss to Rays in series opener

The Boston Red Sox scored four runs in the seventh inning, but it wasn’t enough as they fell to the Tampa Bay Rays 5-4 on Friday night at Fenway Park. 

Rick Porcello allowed five runs (three earned) in six innings. Porcello allowed nine hits. He struck out seven and didn’t issue a walk. 

Xander Bogaerts went 2-3 with a walk. Bogaerts is now hitting .350.
