Sale and Betts lead Red Sox in win over Rays

May 13, 2017

Chris Sale allowed only two hits and struck out 12, while Mookie Betts had two hits, two runs scored, including a home run, and three RBI to lift the Boston Red Sox to a 6-3 win over the Tampa Bay Rays on Saturday afternoon.

Sale has now struck out at least 10 in seven straight starts. In his next start, he will be looking to tie the record of eight consecutive starts with at least 10 strikeouts. Sale (2015) and Pedro Martinez (1999) currently hold that record.

Jackie Bradley JR had two hits, while Deven Marrero had a double and two RBI.

Craig Kimbrel continues to dominate as he struck out two in the ninth inning to lock down the save.
