The Minnesota Twins scored two runs in the first inning on Wednesday night. That was plenty as they cruised to a 4-1 win over the Red Sox at Fenway Park.
Rick Porcello (4-10) allowed four runs in six innings. The Red Sox bullpen pitched three scoreless innings, including Matt Barnes pitching a flawless ninth inning on eight pitches.
Mookie Betts had two of the seven hits for the Red Sox offense. Betts (3) and Dustin Pedroia (2) reached base five times.
Adalberta Mejia pitched 5.2 scoreless innings for the Twins.
