Bogaerts comes off the bench to spark Red Sox win over Jays

Xander Bogaerts didn’t start the game, but he helped finish a 7-4 Red Sox win at Toronto on Friday night.

Bogaerts hit a single that scored Hanley Ramirez to give the Red Sox a 5-4 lead in the top of the 11th inning. Deven Marrero followed with a single that scored Jackie Bradley JR and Bogaerts.

Bradley JR had three hits and scored two runs.  Mookie Betts, Ramirez, and Marrero had two hits each. Marrero reached base four times and had three RBI. Dustin Pedroia, Mookie Betts, and Andrew Benintendi reached base four times each. 

Matt Barnes and Blaine Boyer (1-1) each pitched two scoreless innings. Craig Kimbrel pitched a scoreless ninth inning to record his 23rd save and lower his ERA to 1.01. Doug Fister started the game and allowed three runs in five innings.
