The Coffee News Comrades (Bangor) will begin play in the Northeast Regional of Legion baseball for the third time in four years this morning.
The eight team double elimination tournament will take place on historic Fitton Field at Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts.
Bangors opening opponent at 9:30 a.m., Franklin County Post #1 out of Vermont, is making their first regional appearance since 1934.
Its been just three days since Coffee News won the Maine state title in a very competitive five day tournament.
Bangor will need to win at least one of their first two games in order to get ace pitcher Jesse Colford back on the mound. Colford because of pitch count is ineligible to pitch until Friday.
Look for the Comrades to go with Gary Farnham to pitch the opening game, with Ethan Stoddard on the bump for game two.
