Expectations
As I enter my fourth season, I am confident on our chances in qualifying for the playoffs and on what this team can become as there are 8 returning varsity players from last year’s team. We have worked hard to become a more controlled passing team as well as improve on our individual play which will hopefully translate into more goals this season. We play in an extremely competitive Class B that has a number of talented players that present numerous challenges throughout the season.
Strengths
The team will be strong up the middle with our goalkeeper, center backs, center midfielders and strikers all returning. We will be inexperienced but will have some skilled offensive players that will help to put pressure on our opposing defenders.
Challenges
The team graduated 10 seniors from last year’s team which makes this team young and inexperienced. Anytime you lose that many upperclassmen will make for some growing pains but where we are lacking in experience I feel we will make up in talent.
Key Players/Position
Jenna Clukey/SR Striker/Midfielder will be depended on to lead the offensive attack and be the calming influence for the younger players, Kiara Prescott/SR Goalie is a 4-year starter that has improved each year in every aspect of her game, Olivia Wesley/SO Midfielder that controls our offensive flow, a reliable scorer and helps the defense all over the field, Ashley Simko/JR Striker that can be a consistent goal scorer and versatile with her experience in multiple positions, Hannah Sprecher/JR Defender has the versatility to cover up any defensive lapses along with an extremely strong foot to get the ball out of danger, Avery Nelson/SR Defender has the experience to be in the right place and control the back line, Ainsley Ade/FR Midfielder has the offensive physical tools and potential to make an immediate impact and be a positive team contributor.
