Things didn’t look good for the Boston Red Sox when they allowed four runs and fell behind 6-3 in the seventh inning on Friday night.
The Red Sox scored four runs of their own in the bottom of the seventh inning and two more in the eighth to rally for a 9-6 win over the Yankees at Fenway Park.
Mitch Moreland came off the bench to get the big hit. Moreland drilled a single that scored two runs and gave the Red Sox a 7-6 lead in the seventh inning.
Christian Vazquez had three hits, three runs scored, including a home run. Rafael Devers had two hits, including a two run home run.
Addison Reed (1-1) pitched a scoreless 1.2 innings, with three strikeouts to earn the win. Craig Kimbrel struck out the side in the ninth inning to earn his 29th save.
