The University of Maine women’s soccer team opened up their season at Mahaney Diamond on Sunday afternoon.
Despite a strong effort of 21 shots, including six on goal the Black Bears had to settle for a scoreless tie against LIU Brooklyn.
Nicole Bailey had six of the 21 shots for Maine. Charlotte Messer and Beate Naglestad had two shots each on goal.
Annalena Kriebisch stopped all four shots that came her way. The Black Bears will play at Brown on Friday evening. They will be back home to host Northeastern on August 27th.
