Expectations: After making the playoffs last year we are looking to make a deeper run this year
Strengths: We have a lot of experience coming back this year with 6-7 returning starters and a lot of returning players with experience from last year. We are strong in the middle with senior Bryce Gilbert, a two time regional all star and two time PVC 1st team player. Our offense will also be strong with two returning senior players up front in Dillion Drew (PVC second team) and Cam Kane leading the charge. Holding down the Defense will be returning senior starter Damyan True. We also have a strong group of freshmen this year that are going to make an instant impact including Kobe Gilbert, Fischer Cobb, and Colby Chadwick
Challenges: Depth will be our challenge this year with eight freshmen coming in out of 19 players. They need to adapt to the speed skill and strength of high school play. Our schedule is also a tough one in playing Greenville who are returning almost everyone this year after winning southern Maine class D last year. PVHS, Lee and FA always have good teams as well.
Key Players/Position: Bryce Gilbert-mid field. Dillion Drew- forward. Cam Kane -forward. Damyan True-defense.
Schedule: the Pirates start the season with home games against Penquis and Lee Academy. Eastern Maine Sports will have live audio coverage of the season opener against Penquis. Coverage will start at 12:55 PM on September 2nd. Click here for th full Pirates schedule.
