Each week during the high school sports season, Eastern Maine Sports will announce a female and male athlete of the week. You can send your nominations during the week to Marc at easternmainesports@gmail.com. When you send your nominations include the athlete, name of the school, stats for the week of the nomination. Here is a full list of the 227 past athlete of the week winners.
This week, we had nine Rowell’s Garage male athlete of the week nominations. Sean Whalen led a powerful Madison rushing attack as the Bulldogs rolled to a win at Foxcroft. Whalen joins Stephen Cusson (9-8-11) as student/athletes from Madison high school that have earned athlete of the week honors. Michael Norton helped Oceanside defeat MCI on opening night.

Sean Whalen- Madison- football- rushed for 164 yards and four touchdowns on 18 carries and also had a 75 kickoff return for a touchdown in 49-28 win over Foxcroft.

Michael Norton – Oceanside- football- scored four touchdowns in 38-14 win over MCI.

Bryce Gilbert- PCHS- soccer– scored two goals and had three assists in 10-0 win over Penquis.
Kobe Gilbert- PCHS – soccer- had two goals and one assist in 10-0 win over Penquis.
Riley Dionne-Schenck -soccer- scored the game winning goal and had an assist in 2-1 win over Bangor Christian,
Cam Page- Dexter – football- scored two touchdowns in 28-13 win over Ellsworth.
