DEXTER—-The Central Red Devils girls soccer started strong and finished even stronger in a 7-2 win over Dexter on Saturday morning. Sydney Allen scored three goals and had one assist to lead the Red Devils attack.
It only took 49 seconds for Emilee Cohen to give the Red Devils a lead. The score remained 1-0 until Hannah Dorman evened it up for the Tigers with 3:56 left in the first half. Just 1:18 later, Central took a lead they wouldn’t give back when Allen scored her first goal.
The Red Devils offensive explosion came in the second half when they put five in the back of the net. The first came when Allen set up Lydia Worster on a beautiful pass from Allen and finish from Worster.
Madi Speed gave the Red Devils a 4-1 lead when she drilled a direct kick through all defenders and into the net with 26:09 left. Kaitlyn Bean added a goal for Central (9-3). Rachel Smith recorded nine saves on 14 shots for the Red Devils.
Peyton Grant scored one goal. Addyson Herrick made five saves on 15 shots for Dexter (8-3). The Tigers have allowed 15 goals in their last two home games.
