Each week during the high school sports season, Eastern Maine Sports will announce a female and male athlete of the week. You can send your nominations during the week to Marc at easternmainesports@gmail.com. When you send your nominations include the athlete, name of the school, stats for the week of the nomination. Here is a full list of the 233 past athlete of the week winners.
This week, we had 12 Rowell’s Garage male athlete of the week nominations.Marcus Christopher highlighted a week of huge performance. Christophe threw for eight touchdowns as Skowhegan fell in an overtime classic to Biddeford. Christopher edged out Matthew Young from Mattanawcook and Michael Norton JR from Oceanside for the honor. Christopher joins Adam Dusty (10-20-11) as student/athletes from Skowhegan high school that have been named athlete of the week.

- Marcus Christopher- Skowhegan – football- threw for 445 yards and eight touchdowns in 56-54 overtime loss to Biddeford.

- Matthew Young- Mattanawcook- football- scored two rushing touchdowns, one receiving touchdown, and one kickoff return for a touchdown in 63-22 win over Dexter. He also rushed for 147 yards, converted 7 two point conversions and kicked one extra point. Accounting for 39 of the 63 Lynx points.

- Josh Palmer- Hodgdon – Soccer- scored four goals in 8-2 win over Southern Aroostook.
- Highview Christian boys soccer team1 ended 48 game winless streak with dominate 4-0 win over Valley who beat them 9-3 on September 12th.
- Garth Berenyi- Bangor- Soccer- recorded a hat trick in 4-2 win over Mt. Blue.
- Bryce Gilbert- PCHS- Soccer- scored two goals and had two assists in 5-4 win over Foxcroft.
- Sean Kimball- PCHS- Soccer- had 18 saves in goal in 5-4 win over Foxcroft.
- Michael Norton JR- Oceanside- football- had five touchdowns in 57-28 win over John Bapst.
- Nick Clawson- Foxcroft- football- rushed for three touchdowns and passed for two more in 49-3 win over Mount View.
- Dominic Libbey- Mattanawcook- football- threw for three touchdowns and rushed for one in 63-22 win over Dexter.
- Elijah Allen- Mount View- Soccer- had one goal in 3-1 win over MCI. Had two goals in 2-0 win over MDI.
