Kyrie Irving returned after an injury Tuesday night, and scored 25 points to lead the Boston Celtics past the Brooklyn Nets 109-102 at the Barclays Center for their 13th consecutive win.
Irving, who missed one game due to a facial fracture when he was elbowed by a teammate, added five assists and four rebounds for 13-2 Boston. Marcus Morris added a double double with 21 points and 10 rebounds. All five Celtics starters had double figures, as Jayson Tatum added 19, Al Horford 17, and Jaylen Brown 14. The game was tied at 52-52 at halftime. The Celtics outscored the home standing Nets 28-19 in the third quarter to take control.
Joe Harris led the 5-9 Nets with 19 points, while Rondae Hollis-Jefferson added 16.
Boston will head back home for a much anticipated matchup with the Golden State Warriors Thursday night at 8 p.m. While Boston has best record in NBA, Golden State is tied for second at 11-3.
