Blanca Millan was the high scorer for the third straight game, as the Maine Black Bears womens basketball team won their third consecutive game with a 100-40 win over Division III UMaine-Fort Kent Thursday night at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor.
Maine (3-1), also got 16 points from Kelly Forgarty, 14 from Maeve Carroll, and 11 from Tanesha Sutton. The Bears used a 15-0 first quarter run to pull away from the Bengals, opening up a 30 point lead at halftime. Maine shot 58 percent from the floor and took advantage of 25 Bengals turnovers, that they turned into a 37-6 advantage on points off turnovers.
UMFK (0-3), were led by Tate Dolley, Bianca Gutierriez, and Kailee Dowler who all had 11 points a piece.
Maine returns to action next Friday in the Miami Tournament at Coral Gables, Florida when they battle the host Miami Hurricanes at 4 p.m.
