The St. Joseph’s Monks basketball teams traveled to Castine and swept Maine Maritime on Wednesday night.
St. Joes women turned a close game early into an 80-53 win. The Monks has five players finish in double figures led by Julia Champagne, who had 19 points. Kelsi McNamara added 17 points and six assists. Alayne Felix led Maine Maritime with 16 points.
In the mens’s game, St. Joes rallies in the second half and won 83-75. Tyler Thayer gave Maine Maritime a 46-43 lead with 16:59 remaining. The Monks followed that up with a 10-1 run, they outscored the Mariners 46-37 in the second half. Ian Mileikas recorded 27 points, six rebounds, and six assists for the Monks. Adam Richardson filled up the stat sheet for the Mariners with 16 points, 10 rebounds, and eight assists.
