The Bucksport Bucks boys basketball team will be looking to make a trip to the Cross Insurance Center this coming February. Last season, the Bucks fell a game short when they lost to PCHS in a class C preliminary round game.
Chase Carmichael and Tanner Stegner will lead the way for the Bucks. Tyson Gray and Jacob Donnell will also be looked to as leaders.
“Our strengths this year is everybody is a year older, as we graduated two players off last years team. We have two seniors in Chase Carmichael and Tanner Stegner, who have been varsity players for 4 years,”Bucksport coach Larry Deans said. “We also have five players returning that played significant minutes for us last year, so we have lots of experience as varsity basketball players, but will it translate to more wins?”
The Bucks open the season at Searsport. The home opener will be against Sumner on December 12th. They also have games with contenders Narraguagus and Dexter, plus a clash with class C favorite George Stevens before the calendar turns to 2018.
