Delaware Valley University quarterback Dashawn Darden threw for three touchdowns, and ran for another, to lead the Aggies to an easy 37-15 win over Husson in the second round of the Division III football playoffs Saturday at Robert A. Lipinski Field in Doylestown, Pennsylvania.
The home Aggies built a 19-0 halftime lead, and went into second half cruise control to send Husson home for the season.
Darden went 14-29 passing, 357 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception. He also ran six times for 33 yards a score.
Husson (10-2), was held pretty quiet on the afternoon and was turnover bitten. Quarterback Cory Brandon was only 10-20, 97 yards, with no touchdowns, and four interceptions. John Smith was the top offensive performer, rushing 32 times for 161 yards and a score. Ty Bassett also had a 93 yard kickoff return for a touchdown. The Eagles were outgained 502-241 in total yardage by the 12-0 Aggies.
Husson ends their season as the most successful in program history, winning their first ever playoff game last weekend over Springfield College.
