Julie Brosseau tied a UMaine record Sunday with seven three pointers, but the University of Maine womens basketball team would fall to #8 Ohio State 83-70 at Value City Arena in Columbus, Ohio.
Brosseau finished with a career high 29 points on 10-18 shooting (7-12 from three). Tanesha Sutton also had a career high 18 points and also had 11 rebounds for the 4-4 Black Bears, while Blanca Millan chipped in 13 points. Maine was able to keep the game within 11 at halftime, but Ohio St. outscored the Bears 28-21 in the third to take a comfortable lead of 18 into the final quarter.
Stephanie Mavunga led the 8-2 Buckeyes with 26 points and 16 rebounds, while Sierra Calhoun added 16 points.
Maine will host Maine Maritime Academy Tuesday night at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor at 5 p.m.
