The Celtics had an okay week going 3-2. The Celtics lost to the Spurs 105-102 and also lost to the Bulls 108-85. Those were two tough loses for the Celtics, but they also won three games, including against the Mavericks (97-90), the Pistons (91-81), the Nuggets (124-118).
The Celtics, now sitting 24-6, are 1st place in the Eastern Conference and continuing to play strong. The Celtics are continuing to be led by Kyrie Irving who is averaging 24 ppg. Right along with Kyrie, are veteran Al Horford and rookie Jayson Tatum both of which are averaging 14 ppg and 13.8 ppg, respectively. Rookie Jayson Tatum is also leading the league in 3 point percentage at 50.5%. Jayson Tatum has fit seamlessly among Kyrie and Al and the three together make a great trio.
There is good news this week for Celtics fans also, as Gordon Hayward (who suffered a fractured ankle on opening night in Cleveland) got the okay to walk without a boot on his ankle. This serves as great news to Celtics nation as this comes less than two months after the injury first occurred. According to ESPN, there is still no return time for Hayward, however, he has been shooting flat-footed in the gym and has been taking it “day-by-day” in his recovery time.
The upcoming schedule for the Celtics is as follows:
12/15- against the Jazz
12/16- against the Grizzlies
12/18- against the Pacers
12/20- against the Heat
12/21- against the Knicks
12/23- against the Bulls
12/25 – against the Wizards
Tune in to see if the Celtics can restart a winning streak, as a Christmas gift to Celtics nation. That being said…Merry Christmas everyone! Have a safe and happy holiday!
