The #5 Mississippi State Bulldogs built up a 27 point halftime lead, and cruised to an 83-43 non conference win over Maine in womens basketball action Sunday at Starkville, Mississippi.
Maine (6-5), had a very early three point lead before the Bulldogs charged ahead with 29 first quarter points to build a 17 point lead, and were never really challenged the rest of the way improving to 11-0.
Blanca Millan led the way for Maine with 13 points and five rebounds. Maine shot just 32 percent and committed 27 turnovers. Teaira McGowan had 18 points and 11 rebounds to pace MSU, while Victoria Vivians added 12. The Bulldogs shot 50 percent for the game.
Maine plays at Duke on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
