Bruins skate past Islanders on road

The Boston Bruins continued their red hot play Tuesday night with a 5-1 win over the New York Islanders at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

Danton Heinen, Brad Marchand, and Tim Schaller all had a goal and an assist for Boston (22-10-6). Patrice Bergeron also scored, and Noel Acciari also added a third period empty netter. Jordan Eberle scored the lone goal for the home Islanders, who fall to 20-16-4. New York is only 3-7 in their last 10 games. Jaroslav Halak made 33 saves for the Isles.

Tuuka Rask made 25 saves on 26 shots in goal for the Bruins. Boston is now 7-0-2 in their last nine games, and 16-3-2 over the past 21. They have outscored their last three opponents by a combined score of 15-2 (two against Ottawa, 5-1 and 5-0).

Boston will host Florida Thursday night at 7 p.m.
