Wednesday night the University of Maine mens basketball rallied from 20 points down in the second half at Stony Brook to take a lead late only to lose by a point. Maine rallied again Saturday, but this time captured a 76-73 win at the Events Center over Binghamton at Vestal, New York.
Illker Er had 23 points to help Maine break a five game losing streak and improve to 1-1 in America East play, 4-13 overall. The Maine rally wasn’t as big this time, rallying from nine down with 11:30 left.
Er shot 10-14 from the floor. Aaron Calixte scored 18 points and dished out four assists, while Isaiah White had 13 points.
J.C. Show had 20 points for Binghamton (9-7, 0-1). Thomas Bruce added 12 points and seven rebounds.
Maine will host UMBC at 7 p.m. on Wednesday at the Cross Insurance Center.
