Bruins extend points streak by beating rival Canadiens

Ryan Spooner scored a second period goal that proved to be the game winner Wednesday night, as the Boston Bruins went on to defeat the Montreal Canadiens 4-1 at TD Garden.

Brad Marchand and David Krejci scored third period goals, and David Pastrnak had the other goal, as the Bruins extended their games streak with at least a point to 10-0-4. Marchand and Krejci also added assists on the night, and Patrice Bergeron had two assists. Tuuka Task stopped 21 of 22 shots to help backstop the second win in a week over Montreal. Boston is now 25-10-8.

Jakub Jerabek scored the lone Canadiens goal 31 seconds into the game. Carey Price made 28 saves. Montreal drops to 18-21-6.

Boston travels to Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY Thursday night to battle the Islanders at 7 p.m.
