Each week during the high school sports season, Eastern Maine Sports will announce a female and male athlete of the week. You can send your nominations during the week to Marc at easternmainesports@gmail.com. When you send your nominations include the athlete, name of the school, stats for the week of the nomination. Here is a full list of the 248 past athlete of the week winners.
This week, we had nine Rowell’s Garage female athlete of the week nominations. Kolleen Bouchard averaged 31 points, 12 rebounds, 6.5 assists, and six blocks in helping the Houlton girls basketball team win two games this week and stay on top of the Maine Principals’ Association class C heal point standings with a 10-0 record. She edged out Emily Wheaton (Presque Isle) for athlete of the week honors. Wheaton went over the 1000 point mark for her career.It is the 16th athlete of the week honor for Bouchard.
The Charles Inn female athlete of the week
Kolleen Bouchard- Houlton – basketball -recorded 30 points, 16 rebounds, and six assists in 63-54 win over Presque Isle. Recorded 32 points, eight rebounds, seven assists, and six blocks in 71-47 win over Mattanawcook.
Runner up
Emily Wheaton- Presque Isle- basketball scored 17 points, including her 1000 career point in 64-26 win over Old Town. Scored 27 points in 63-54 loss to Houlton.
Other nominations
Gabby DePatsy- Medomak Valley- basketball – recorded 24 points, 14 rebounds, four steals, and three blocks in 54-24 win over Morse.
Alivia Hunt- PCHS – basketball- recorded 16 points, 10 rebounds, three steals, and two assists in 45-29 win over Mattanawcook.
Erin Speed- PCHS – basketball – recorded 12 points, eight steals, seven rebounds, and two assists in 45-29 win over Mattanawcook.
Katherine Alley- Stearns – basketball – scored 35 points in 68-48 win over Mattanawcook. Scored 12 points in 45-25 win over PVHS.
Sydney Fowles- Penquis- basketball – scored 16 points and pulled down 13 rebounds in 53-46 loss to Dexter.
Sydney Allen- Central- basketball- scored 25 points in 74-10 win over Lee.
Trinity Montigny- Ellsworth- basketball- scored 20 points in 43-34 win over John Bapst.
