GUILFORD– Lee Academy went on a 12-0 run to end the game in a 62-49 boys basketball win over PCHS on Tuesday night.
The Pandas held a 15-13 lead after the first quarter. Lee scored the first 15 points of the second quarter to get the lead up to 30-13. They held a 33-17 halftime lead. Jacob Harriman had eight first half points for the Pandas, including two 3-pointers in the first quarter.
PCHS outscored Lee 19-13 in the third quarter to get the deficit down to 46-36. Caleb Willis made his only basket of the game to cut the deficit to 50-49. The Pandas scored the final 12 points to close out the victory.
Samuel Huang led a balanced Pandas attack with 19 points and four assists. Kwan Yeh had 13 points and four steals. Harriman added 11 points, while Willie Hsu also finished in double figures with 10 points. Hsu also dished out four assists. Alexey Platonov and Jolen Phelps chipped in with six and three points respectively. Lee (12-5) will end their regular season on Thursday when they host Penquis.
Bryce Gilbert recorded 20 points, seven rebounds, and four assists to lead the Pirates. Cameron Kane scored 11 points (all in the second half), Damyan True also put in 11 points. Eben Cooley recorded three points, four assists, and four steals, while Willis and Adam Bagley chipped in with two points each. PCHS (11-6) will finish their regular season at home against Mattanawcook on Thursday. That game can be heard live at Eastern Maine Sports starting at 6:55.
