The Chicago Blackhawks scored a pair of powerplay goals, including the third period game winner from Patrick Kane Sunday afternoon to skate past the Boston Bruins 3-1 at the United Center in Chicago.
Artem Anisimov staked the Hawks to a 1-0 lead with a powerplay goal in the first period. Zdeno Chara tied it for Boston with 9:03 left in the game with his seventh of the season. Kanes game winner was his 25th goal of the season and came with just 3:16 left. Brent Seabrook added an insurance goal with 1:05 left, as Chicago ended Bostons six game winning streak.
Boston (43-16-8) was 0-1 on the powerplay, and Anton Khudobin made 36 saves in the loss. The Bruins played without Brad Marchand, who is nursing an upper body injury. Chicago (30-32-8) got 31 saves from Anton Forsberg, and was 2-5 with the extra man. Boston returns to action Tuesday in Carolina to face the Hurricanes at 7 p.m.
