Red Sox defeat Rays 2-1 in series finale

Hector Velazquez allowed one run in 5.2 innings lead the Boston Red Sox to a 2-1 win over the Tampa Bay Rays on Sunday afternoon at Tropicana field.

The bullpen pitched 3.1 innings of scoreless relief capped by Joe Kelly who earned the save. JD Martinez and Rafael Devers each had one RBI, while Mookie Betts has two hits.

The Red Sox took three out of four in their season opening series against the Rays. They will head to Miami for a two game series. Brian Johnson and Chris Sale will be the starting pitchers in the series for the Sox.
