The Boston Bruins rallied from an eary 2-0 deficit and tied the game, but ultimately would end up dropping a 3-2 decision to the Florida Panthers at the BB&T Center in Sunrise, Florida Thursday night.
Aleksander Barkov and former Bruin Frank Vatrano scored 1:52 apart in the first to give the Panthers a 2-0 advantage. Ted Donato scored a powerplay goal though 5:45 after Vatranos marker, to cut the lead to 2-1. Boston tied it 2:11 into the second on Danton Heinens 15th goal. Florida (42-30-8) got the game winner off the stick of Jared McCann with 5:37 left in the game, sending Boston to their second straight regulation loss and third overall.
Boston remains tied with Tampa Bay for first in Atlantic and the Eastern Conference, as the Lightning were idle. Tuuka Rask made 32 saves in the loss for the 49-19-12 Bruins. Roberto Luongo made 26 saves in the win for the Panthers. Boston will host Ottawa Saturday night at 7 p.m.
