Strengths: This season we have a number athletes who are natural born leaders who bring positive energy, demonstrate hard work, and have a team-first attitude every day.  We return a lot of experienced, high level athletes after a highly successful season that are able to share that experience and build on it for the upcoming season.

Biggest Challenges: Despite the large number of returnees, we will have a lot of young athletes on the team.  These Freshman and first timers are very talented with high ceilings, but they’ll tread water for a little while as both they and the coaches figure out what their strengths are and how they can best help the team.  The great thing about this new crop is that they are very coachable and have shown the willingness to selflessly work hard.

Key Players:

– Boys: Croix Albee (SP, Jav, Disc), Sam Hoff (SP, Disc), Griffin Maristany (200, 400, Relays), Elijah Joyce (110h, 300h), Owen Mild (400, Relays), Colby Lee (100, LJ, Relays), Stephen Grierson (800, 1600), Jose Chumbe (PV, 800, Relays)

– Girls: Ashley Anderson (100, 200, 400, Relays), Zoe Olson (800, 1600, Relays), Adriana Novella (100, 200, Relays), Dori LeMoine (SP), Mackenzie Hanna (SP, Disc), Megan Moore (Jav)

Newcomers:

– Boys: Darian Williams, Maddox Laurendeau, Finian Burns, Billy Kerley, Baylor Landsman, Archer Hill

– Girls: Marilyn Sawyer, Emma Freudig, Loren Genrich, Olivia Johnson, Olivia Gray

Favorites: Annual Large School PVC favorites always lie with Bangor, Brewer, and Hampden, as well as John Bapst on the Boys side.  Each of those schools historically have a lot of really great athletes and their coaches are very knowledgeable and are able to plug them into a lot of different events.  We’ll, of course, always throw our hat in the ring to see what we can do.  I’m looking forward to a very competitive season.
