The America East announced Thursday that it will be making changes to the America East women’s basketball tournament beginning in the 2018-19 season.
Going back to a format it had used three times previously, all rounds of the AE playoffs will now be held on the home court of the higher seed. The top eight teams make postseason, as there will be no neutral site games as previously.
The tournament had been held at the Cross Insurance Arena in Portland, Maine the last two seasons for the quarter and semifinal rounds, with the higher seed still receiving home court for the title game.
