Celtics get past Bucks in overtime

In a game in which had looked like it had won in regulation Sunday afternoon, the Boston Celtics outlasted the Milwaukee Bucks 113-107 in overtime in game one of an Eastern Conference quarterfinal series at TD Garden in Boston.

Boston had a 10 point lead with just over four minutes left in the fourth quarter, before Milwaukee rallied and eventually tied it at 96-96 on a three pointer from Malcolm Brogdon with 10.3 seconds left. Terry Rozier step back three pointer with just 0.5 seconds left on the clock made it 99-96, and the Celtics looked as if they had taken the series lead. But Khris Middleton knocked down a contested 35 foot three pointer from the right wing as time expired to send the game to an extra session. Rozier scored eight of Bostons 14 overtime points, as the C’s finally put game one to bed to take a 1-0 series lead in the best of seven. Giannis Antetokounmpo scored six of Milwaukees eight overtime points before fouling out.

Milwaukee was led by Antetokounmpo who finished with 35 points, 13 rebounds, and seven assists. Middleton finished with 31 points, eight rebounds, and six assists. Brogdon had 16 points, four rebounds, and three assists.

Al Horford led a balanced Boston attack with 24 points, 12 rebounds, and four assists. Rozier had 23 points, four rebounds, and three assists. Marcus Morris had 21 points and seven rebounds. Jaylen Brown had 20 points, four rebounds, and four assists, while Jayson Tatum had 19 points, 10 rebounds, four assists, and three steals.

Boston will look go up 2-0 at home when game two tips off at TD Garden Tuesday night at 8 pm.
