The Brewer Witches baseball team started quickly and rolled to a 12-2 win over Winslow on Friday afternoon at Mahaney Diamond on the campus of the University of Maine.
The Witches scored three in each of the first two innings and put the mercy rule win away with six runs in the fourth inning. Kobe Rogerson sparked the offense. He reached base three times, including two hits, three runs scored, two RBI, and one double. Levi Williamson had three RBI while Andrew Kiley knocked home two. Evan Andrews earned the pitching victory, allowing one run on five hits. Andrews didn’t issue a walk and struck out one. Brewer (2-0) will host rival Bangor on Monday.
Isaac Targett had two hits to lead the Black Raiders attack. Targett suffered the loss on the mound. Winslow (0-2) will host Messalonskee on Monday.
