Khris Davis smacked a three run homer in the bottom of the eighth inning off David Price to lift the Oakland Athletics to a 4-1 win over the Boston Red Sox on Sunday afternoon at Rickey Henderson field.
Davis had all four RBI for the Athletics. The Red Sox lost their second in a row for the first time this season. The Athletics held the Red Sox to one run and six hits the last two days.
Mitch Moreland had two hits for the Red Sox. Price (2-2) took the loss. He allowed four runs on nine hits and one walk, while striking out six. The Red Sox will take a 17-4 record into Toronto on Tuesday. Rick Porcello (4-0) will be on the mound in the series opener against the Blue Jays.
