J.D. Martinez hit a three run home run in the 5th inning to lift the Boston Red Sox to a 5-4 win at Toronto on Thursday night.
Chris Sale (2-1) allowed three runs in six innings. He allowed four hits and two walks, while striking out four. Craig Kimbrel pitched a perfect ninth to earn his seventh save.
Martinez, Hanley Ramirez, and Andrew Benintendi had two hits each. Brock Holt extended his hitting streak to nine games, but he had to be removed from the game due to a hamstring injury.
The Red Sox finished their road trip 6-3 and are 19-5 overall. The Red Sox will start a three game series against the Rays at Fenway Park on Friday night.
