May 2, 2018

The Husson Eagles softball team was able to capture the top spot in the North Atlantic Conference regular season, allowing the Eagles to host the double elimination conference tournament starting Friday at O’Keefe Field on the Husson University campus in Bangor.

The Eagles went 6-2 in the NAC, while New England College went 9-3, ending in the same win percentage. The two teams split two games head to head, so the next tiebreaker was the results against #3 seed Castleton. Husson swept Castleton in a pair of games, while NEC split with the Spartans, allowing the Eagles to get the top spot. Husson finished with an overall record of 17-12.

Meanwhile, the Husson baseball team lost out on its chance to make postseason play. The Eagles were edged out by UMaine-Farmington for the final spot in the tournament which is being hosted by top seed Castleton.
