Sale (3-1) allowed one run on four hits and one walk, while striking out 12. J.D. Martinez hit a solo home run, while Sandy Leon had the biggest hit when he hit a three run homer in the sixth inning. It is the third straight win for the Red Sox.
The Red Sox will enter a three game series with the Yankees at the Bronx on Tuesday with a 25-9 record. The Yankees are 24-10 and one game behind the Red Sox. The Yankees have won 15 of their last 16 games.
