Pomeranz struggles in Red Sox loss to Orioles

Drew Pomeranz allowed five runs (four earned) and threw 81 pitches in four innings as the Boston Red Sox fell to the Baltimore Orioles 7-4 at Fenway Park on Friday night.

Mookie Betts had three hits, including two doubles and his 14th homer of the season. J.D Martinez, Eduardo Nunez, and Christian Vazquez each had two hits.

The Red Sox were down 6-4 in the eighth inning and had Betts up with the bases loaded. He popped out to end the inning. Steven Wright pitched 4.2 innings out of the bullpen. Rick Porcello is scheduled to pitch in game three of the series on Saturday night.
