The Cleveland Cavaliers broke out to a 17 point lead in the opening quarter in a game that was never really close Saturday night, and cruised to a 116-86 win over the Boston Celtics in game three of the Eastern Conference Finals at the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland. Boston now leads the best of seven series 2-1.
The Cavs got back into the series with some solid outside shooting from the three point line, and led from start to finish. Cleveland made 17-34 from behind the arc, and shot 49% from the floor. Boston however, only shot 39%, and just 6-22 from long range. Game four will be Monday night in Cleveland at 8:30 pm.
LeBron James filled up the stat sheet for Cleveland with 27 points, 12 assists, five rebounds, two steals, and two blocks. Kyle Korver added 14 points. Kevin Love and George Hill added 13 a piece. JR Smith chipped in 11, and Tristan Thompson had 10 points. Lebrons 12 assists were to seven different players. The Cavs are now 6-1 at home this postseason.
Cleveland led this one 61-41 at the half, and Boston never got the lead inside 20 in the second half. Jayson Tatum led Boston with 18 points. Terry Rozier had 13 points, and Jaylen Brown and Greg Monroe both had 10 points a piece. Boston is just 1-5 on road in the playoffs.
