LeBron James led all scorers with 44 points to lead the Cleveland Cavaliers to a 111-102 victory over the Boston Celtics in game four of the Eastern Conference Finals at Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland Monday night. The best of seven series is now tied 2-2, with both teams winning both their home games over first four.
The Cavs broke the first quarter open again much like they did in game three, taking a 16 point advantage. Boston fell behind by as many as 19 in the second quarter, but got within nine on a Jaylen Brown three pointer. Cleveland led by 15 at the break. The Cavs shot the ball at 62% from the field in first half.
Boston got within eight in third quarter, and then with 4:30 to play in the game they were within seven. Cleveland would score six straight points, and then with Cavs up 11 with two minutes to play James knocked down a three pointer to put the hosts up 14 and salt the game away.
James added five rebounds, three assists, and two steals to his point total for the Cavs. LeBron shot 17-28 from the floor and 9-13 from foul line. Kyle Korver added 14 points, and George Hill and Tristan Thompson both finished with 13 points. Cleveland ended up shooting 51% for the game.
Jaylen Brown led the Celtics with 25 points, six rebounds, two assists, and two steals. Jayson Tatum had 17 points. Terry Rozier had 16 points, 11 assists, six rebounds, and three steals. Al Horford added 15 points and seven rebounds, while Marcus Morris chipped in 10 points. Boston shot 41% from the floor, and 9-28 from three point range.
Game five will be in Boston at TD Garden on Wednesday night at 8:30 pm. Celtics are 9-0 at home in this years playoffs, while just 1-6 on road.
