Astros use the long ball in win over Sox

The Houston Astros smacked three home runs and rolled to a 7-3 win over the Red Sox at Minute Maid Park on Friday night.

George Springer hit a solo homer off Chris Sale in the third inning. Carlos Correa and Evan Gattis helped the Astros put up insurance runs with homers off Joe Kelly in the eighth inning.

Sale allowed four runs on six hits and one walk. He struck out six in six innings. Kelly had his first rough outing since opening day. Allowing three runs while only recording one out.

Mitch Moreland and JD Martinez hit back to back homers for the Red Sox in the fourth inning. Brock Holt also had one RBI. David Price and Justin Verlander is the scheduled pitching matchup in game three of the series on Saturday night.
