Kenzie Dore smacked a single that scored Jordan Goodrich in the bottom of the ninth inning to give Brewer a 3-2 win over Oceanside in the KVAC softball championship game on Saturday afternoon.
Dore, Goodrich, and MJ Sellers recorded two hits each. Goodrich scored two runs and had one RBI. Libby Hewes went the full nine innings in the circle for the Witches. She allowed two runs on six hits and two walks, while striking out nine. Brewer will enter the Maine Principals’ Association class B tournament as the number one seed. They will host a quarterfinal game on Thursday.
Hannah Moholland had two hits to lead the Mariners offense. Chloe Jones pitched well in a losing effort. Jones allowed three runs (one earned) on eight hits and two walks. She struck out nine. Oceanside enters the class B tournament as the number four seed and will host MDI in a prelim game on Monday.
