The Boston Red Sox fell to the Chicago White Sox 5-2 on Sunday afternoon at Fenway Park. It is the first series loss for the Red Sox since they lost two out of three against the Oakland Athletics in a series between May 14th through May 16th.
Rick Porcello allowed three runs (two earned) on five hits and three walks, while striking out five in six innings. The White Sox scored two very important insurance runs off Matt Barnes in the eighth inning.
Mitch Moreland reached base three times to lead the struggling Red Sox offense. The Orioles will host the Red Sox in a three game series starting Monday night. Steven Wright and Dylan Bundy is the scheduled pitching matchup.
