Eduardo Rodriguez struggled in four innings on Saturday night at Fenway Park. Rodriguez allowed five runs (four earned) on seven hits and two walks, while striking out two as the Boston Red Sox fell 7-2 to the Seattle Mariners.
It was the first rough outing from Rodriguez (9-2) in quite some time as the Red Sox came into the night with a 13-1 record in his starts.
Nelson Cruz continued to be red hot for the Mariners. Cruz reached base four times with three hits. Cruz had two homers and seven RBI on Friday night. Mike Leake (8-4) pitched eight shutout innings, allowing only three hits.
JD Martinez and Mitch Moreland had two hits each for the Red Sox. The final game of the series will be Sunday afternoon with Chris Sale scheduled to pitch.
Xander Bogaerts (finger) and Mookie Betts (sick) each missed the game and are expected back on Sunday.
