Shane Bieber (7-2) allowed three runs on five hits to lead the Cleveland Indians to a 6-3 win over the Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park on Tuesday night.
Bieber didn’t issue a walk and struck out five in 6.1 innings. Adam Cimber, Andrew Miller, and Brad Hand combined to throw 2.2 innings of hitless relief for the Indians.
Indians rookie Greg Allen continued to have a strong series. He reached base three times, including two hits. Allen also made an outstanding catch in the seventh inning to halt a Red Sox rally.
Andrew Bentinitendi had two of the five Red Sox hits. Nathan Eovaldi (5-5) allowed four runs on 10 hits and one walk, while striking out two. The Red Sox have only their second losing streak of three games of the season. They are the only team in baseball without a four game losing streak. Brian Johnson will take on Carlos Carrasco in game three of the four game series on Wednesday evening.
