Black Bears field hockey will climb national polls after back to back wins over highly ranked opponents

The University is Maine field hockey team was ranked #25 coming into this weekend. They will be ranked higher when the next polls come out after defeating two ranked teams.

Libby Riedl scored in overtime to give the Black Bears a 2-1 win over #24 Ohio State at New Balance Field in Boston on Saturday afternoon. Brooke Sulinski gave the Black Bears a 1-0 lead midway through the second half. Jessica Hourihane evened things up for Ohio State just 1:41 after the Sulinski goal.

Maine (3-0) defeated #19 Boston University 2-1 on Friday night. Emily Hindle and Riley field scored the goals for the Black Bears. UMaine will now play five more road games before they host Harvard on I September 23rd.
